Mia
(Musically Inclined Actress)
Mia was born Myeisha L Dunn February 10th in Mesquite, Texas. She was raised in Torrance, California and currently attends West Torrance High School. Mia was exposed to music very early in her life and has an appreciation for different genres of music. Her mother is a singer and her father is a lyricist. Mia always sang around the house and even sang in the church choir.
By age 7, Mia started a new trend in the family history. She participated in a modeling workshop managed by Janelle Jackson of JVogue Modeling and Talent. She placed 1st in both competitions in which she competed. She was soon signed with Pamela Roberts of the Models Guild of California. She later began taking theater classes at Faith Acting Studios in Baldwin Hills (Los Angeles), California. She studied under the direction of Diedre Wesson and Michael P. Edwards. The directors moved on and Faith Acting Studios closed its doors in the spring of 2000. Mia moved on to study with the Chip Fields Acting Workshop (Ms. Fields works as a consultant for TV shows and is the mother of the famous Kim Fields of “The Facts of Life”).
Mia currently trains with the reputable Ingrid Shaw of Shaw Management in Studio City, California. Mia has been featured in various TV shows such as Strong Medicine, All That, Lizzy McGuirre, The Guardian, and ER as well as being the photo double for Camille Winbush of the Bernie Mac Show.
In the summer of 2004, Mia penned several commercial hit songs including “Haters,” “True Love,” and “Bad Dream.” Mia also works as a session vocalist in her spare time.
